Magnetic safety barriers
Safety Fence Belgium is allowed to install without placing an additional signal indicator in front of or on the site. The safety barriers are used to ensure the safety of workers on the track. This way, the active track can continue to function without an overload of signal indicators, and workers can continue to work on the inactive track. Despite the different types of works, it is permitted for personnel or machinery to enter the inactive track.
However, a minimum distance of 1.5 meters is required between the outside of the Safety Fence and the edge of the outer rail of the active track. The Safety Fence is placed over the entire length of the work area. This is done to avoid access to the active track over the entire width of the yard.
The Safety Fence is always placed on the track that remains in service and not on the track that is being worked on. This indicates that the security measures are specifically aimed at protecting people on the inactive track.
